The TOWIE star reveals all about her weight gain

While many reality stars are constantly dieting so they can show off their new slimline figures, here’s one who isn’t bothered she’s gained a few pounds – Ferne McCann.
The 24-year-old looked happy with her fuller figure in an orange Victoria¹s Secret bikini while on holiday in Cannes.
Opening up to Now, Ferne says: ‘I’ve never been bigger but I’ve never felt better. I’m the fittest I’ve ever been. I can run further and train longer than ever before. I like feeling fit rather than thin.’
Showing off a bum that would impress Kim Kardashian, Ferne explains her changing figure.
‘Over the years I’ve either been really out of shape or really skinny,’ she says. ‘When I first joined TOWIE I felt under pressure to lose weight. I’ve tried to slim down, but I’ve always known I’ve got curves. I’m just really embracing them now.
‘I don¹t think I’ve got a bikini body where people are like: “I want to look so much like her, she’s my body inspiration.” For me, it’s all about being fit and healthy and having a strong body instead of being skinny, so I’m just concentrating on that.’
Ferne, who jetted off to Marbella last week to film the new series of TOWIE, refuses to get into competitive dieting with other cast members before stripping off.
‘I’m not putting pressure on myself to get skinny for summer or for filming in Marbella,’ she explains.
‘Some of the girls won’t eat before we go because they’re worried about being in their bikinis. I want to represent real women. I love my food and that’s why I started a food blog. I don’t want to do fad diets and be unhealthy.’
Ferne thinks her change in diet is behind her new shapely figure.
‘I’ve just become a pescatarian and I’ve been struggling to get my diet right,’ she says. ‘I’ve been overloading on carbs and snacking too much. I’ve never been a massive meat fan, but I decided a month ago I wanted to cut it out.’
Newly single Ferne’s planning to undertake several fitness challenges this year, including climbing Machu Picchu in Peru with TOWIE co-star Lydia Bright, as well as taking part in the Great Newham London Swim and Run.
She says: ‘I’m training for the trek, so the 10k run and the swim the following day will help with my fitness for that. It’s definitely an incentive to get to the gym.’
