She’s not had much luck with men in the past, but we have high hopes for Amy Childs and her brand new boyfriend!
The former TOWIE star has gone public on her romance with hunky Hollywood actor Jay Hector, with both stars filling their Instagram feeds with cute couple selfies. Aww!
Amy has been single since she split from former boyfriend Bradley Wright in September this year – around the same time that the builder was jailed for handling stolen goods.
But she’s quickly put all that horrible business behind her and looks to be very much love-up with Jay.
But just who is this new man in Amy’s life? Here’s six things to know about him…
1. He’s an Essex boy!
Although he’s now based in LA due to his acting career, Jay was born in London and spent his childhood growing up in Essex.
2. He swapped serious business for show business
Jay spent three years working for investment bank Goldman Sachs, but a career in show business beckoned and he swapped the city for the bright lights of Hollywood. He’s gone on to star in various low-budget films, and has used his lovely face (and rather fit body) to model for the likes of Nike and Vera Wang.
3. He has the stamp of approval from Amy’s pals
Any man knows that to win the heart of a girl you must also win the approval of their friends (a la that scene with Miranda and Mr Big in the final episode of Sex And The City).
And it seems as though Jay makes the grade, with a friend of Amy’s telling new! magazine he’s ‘a really nice bloke’ and is ‘good for Amy’.
This is what we like to hear.
4. He’s surrounded by babies
Jay recently became an uncle, with brother and sister-in-law welcoming a bundle of joy into the world – on the same day that one of his mates celebrated a new arrival!
Jay gushed about the new arrivals on Intagram, writing: ‘What a BLESSED DAY!!!!! Such an amazing day!!!!’
Might he be feeling a tad broody? Ooh, how we’d love a mini Amy to coo over!
5. He’s deep
Jay appears to be a fan of a good Insta-quote (aren’t we all), with highlights from his social feed including: ‘You soul is the love of all loves.’ *shivers*
6. He’s not a fan of the Kardashians
Or at least, it seems that way judging from a post he recently re-tweeted that read: ‘I am disgusted that as a nation we are more interested in the Kardashians than we are in protecting our children.’
So we take it there won’t be any cosy nights in watching KUWTK on the sofa with Amy then?
