The feud between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift has taken a major new turn

Watch out, Taylor Swift – it looks like Katy Perry is about to hit back at you in shocking style!
Just weeks after 25-year-old Taylor released Bad Blood – the tune she supposedly wrote about her long-running feud with Katy – Katy has tellingly registered a track called 1984 at BMI Repertoire.
Now is this a dig at Taylor, whose most recent album was called 1989? If it’s not then it’s a pretty big coincidence…
Perhaps Katy, 30, is preparing to release her own revenge song to tell her side of the story.
Although Taylor has never named Katy, the blonde starlet has previously spoken about her falling out with a famous lady widely speculated to be Katy. Last year Taylor admitted in an interview that Bad Blood had been written about said feud.
‘For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,’ she told Rolling Stone magazine.
‘She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, “Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?”’
Taylor alleged that the mystery star then tried to ‘sabotage’ her, leading to the total breakdown of their relationship.
‘She did something so horrible,’ the Shake It Off star claimed. ‘I was like, “Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.”
‘She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.
‘And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.’
Katy famously appeared to respond to Taylor’s comments by posting a Tweet about the villain from hit film Mean Girls played by Rachel McAdams.
‘Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing…,’ Russell Brand’s ex wrote. Miaow!
Needless to say this whole backstory makes us VERY excited about what 1984 could be about!
