After THAT snap of her feeding her daughter got people talking, Tamara Ecclestone issues a defiant response

Tamara Ecclestone has responded to criticism over a photo of her breastfeeding her daughter that she posted on Instagram during her recent holiday.
The 30-year-old socialite shared a snap whilst feeding one-year-old daughter Sophia on vacation in the Bahamas earlier this month but it received a very mixed reaction, with some followers suggesting she should have kept the moment ‘private’. Others claimed that it was putting pressure on mums who struggle to breastfeed.
Tamara has no regrets though and hit back at the critics during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine this morning.
‘My husband took the picture and I loved it. I thought it was so cute and I didn’t realise that it was going to cause so much controversy,’ the mum-of-one explains.
‘I didn’t realise that people would have so many opinions on it, I just thought it was a beautiful photograph of the person that I love so much and on holiday and it was a special moment and that was really the only reason to share that picture.
‘It was such a natural moment, I didn’t realise the photo was being taken, I hadn’t even brushed my hair. We’d literally just woken up and gone straight to the beach.
’To me it wasn’t really thought about, it wasn’t calculated, it wasn’t planned. It was just like a spontaneous moment and I think sometimes those are the nicest pictures and to be honest I just think, why should I not post a picture?’
Tamara – who married former stockbroker Jay Rutland in July 2013 – thinks it’s unfair that there wouldn’t have been such a backlash if she’d been bottle-feeding Sophia.
‘If someone is bottle feeding their baby and enjoying it and in the moment and post a picture of their baby while they’re being fed a bottle, nobody would have anything to say about that,’ the heiress says.
It sounds like the controversy hasn’t upset Tamara too much though. Bernie Ecclestone’s daughter went on to post another breastfeeding snap just a day after the first one and is sticking to what she thinks is best.
‘I think parenting in general, people always have such an opinion and it divides opinion,’ she admits.
‘I’m kind of over trying to please anyone, I just do whatever feels right and I think as a mum you just follow your instinct of what feels right to you.’
Tamara’s not the first famous mum to post a photo of herself breastfeeding of course. Other stars to do it include models Gisele Bündchen and Miranda Kerr.
