The season finale of I Am Cait saw Caitlyn Jenner hold a renaming ceremony with Boy George and confront ex-wife Kris Jenner

It’s been a life-changing year for Caitlyn Jenner. She introduced herself to the world, broke the record in being the quickest account to gain one million followers on Twitter, won the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY Awards, and has been featuring in her very own documentary series, I Am Cait, following the journey of her transition.

And in the finale of the series, the 65-year-old went through another important moment of her life, as she held a renaming ceremony. But none of her family members seemed to be at the occasion.
As the episode saw the Olympian – formerly known as Bruce Jenner – formally accept her new identity, familiar faces of the Kardashians were nowhere to be seen. Supportive daughters Khloe and Kim Kardashian were missing from the day, as was son Brody Jenner.
Reasons why they were in attendance are unknown, however, Caitlyn still had plenty of guests at the big day, including rumored love interest Candis Cayne, and 80s music icon Boy George, who serenaded Caitlyn.

The gold medalist declared that she was now to be formally known as Caitlyn Marie Jenner during the service, which was opened by Minister Allyson Dylan Robinson.
Caitlyn herself admitted that she finally felt like she ‘fits in’ and can truly be herself.
‘It has been an amazing journey, and I’m seeing all of it come true. I’m in a great place in life and, for the first time, I feel like I fit in some place. Being my authentic self. Thank you.’
Although the end to this documentary was one that was for celebration and a joyous one, the final episode also included a much-anticipated confrontation with her ex-wife Kris Jenner. It was a little bit tense and awkward to say the least, as you can imagine.
Kris shared that she felt like she had been ‘thrown under the bridge’, while Caitlyn shared that she was hurt that she wasn’t invited and part of daughter Kylie Jenner’s graduation.
‘For 15 years of my life I carpooled kids every day – some days I would spend three of four hours a day in the car – a slap in the face when you don’t even get invited to their graduation.’
But Kris was clear that it wasn’t intentional: ‘Usually people that get a divorce don’t do everything together. It wasn’t malicious.’
And how do you move on from the awkward-ness and break the tension? By taking a selfie together of course. Caitlyn even planted a big ol’ kiss on Kris’ cheek for the pic.
Congrats Caitlyn! Glad to see that you and Kris kissed and made-up.
