For an A-List star, the Oscars is one of the Hollywood events that you’re definitely expected to attend.
And when your partner is nominated for Best Actor, there’s even more of an expectation to don your best glad rags and hit the red carpet in support – and to give all your fans some serious couple envy. However, Eva Mendes decided to steer clear of the awards circuit this time around – sparking some cynics to wonder whether her relationship with Ryan Goslingwas on the rocks!
But she’s stepped out and given the true reason for her non-attendance – and it’s really pretty simple…
Eva, 43, and 36-year-old Ryan have two daughters together: two-year-old Esmeralda, and baby Amada, born in April 2016. And for Eva, spending time with her little ones far beats going out and being papped – so she chose to do that instead!
‘What people don’t know about me is that I love being home,’ she reveals. ‘Instead of hitting the red carpet, I’d rather be with our girls.’
Can’t get fairer than that!
And even though she loves to stay at home with the girls, this certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed by Ryan- who adorably thanked her for all her hard work in the home during his Golden Globes acceptance speech in January:
‘…While I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer.
‘If she hadn’t have taken all that on so that I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today. So sweetheart, thank you.’

Elsewhere in her interview with Shape magazine, Eva spoke about the possible struggles of regaining a toned figure after having children. As the cover star, it’s clear that she’s definitely overcome the challenge, as she’s looking great in a chic vest and skirt combo.
However, taking care of two under-fives has made it easier to get fit – she explains: ‘In some ways, it’s been more challenging to get back in shape after my second daughter.
‘Yet it’s not as hard as I thought it would be, because I’m always running around with the kids. I never sit down—I’m on the move all day.’
We literally can’t keep up with reality TV’s most outrageous couple, Charlotte Crosby and Stephen Bear at the moment.
After a string of bedroom selfies and romantic dog walks, we were pretty certain the Just Tattoos Of Us co-stars were definitely a thing.

But then Bear tried to get off with literally EVERYONE on E4 dating show, Celebs Go Dating and even attempted to play bongos on one poor woman’s chest – and we were back to square one with these two.
Although it soon became clear that the Lothario’s mind was elsewhere as he failed to find love on the reality series and on Wednesday night (8th March) he was booted off the show amid rumours he was dating Char (and probably down to the fact he ran out on two dates and threw a drink over another…)
Well now in another twist to the Crosbear saga, Charlotte has gone on a rant just moments before the scenes of Bear’s sensational show-dumping were aired.

Laying in to some mysterious girls, the Geordie Shore star’s Snapchat message began: ‘I am very angry right this very second… Some people are just stupid little pr**ks.

While we’re not sure whether this has anything to do with the Celebs Go Dating drama, the pair still seem to be denying their romance as Bear told the celeb dating agents Nadia and Eden: ‘I am single, 110%’.
Although Nadia wasn’t having any of it as she then revealed: ‘We’ve seen from your social media, that you are dating someone outside the agency books.’
And despite the evidence stacking up against him, Bear still insisted he wasn’t dating Char, adding: ‘I’m not dating anyone outside the agency.’

But our suspicions were soon confirmed when Nadia said: ‘If you hadn’t absolutely sabotaged every single date we’ve sent you on, then we wouldn’t be at this stage.
‘You haven’t given us a glimmer of hope that you are, in any way, someone that we want to represent on our books. I give you full permission to hook up with whoever you want because we will no longer be working with you.’
When you think of Gareth Gates, it’s likely that your mind will go back to a time of oversized suits, sweet pop ballads and, of course, his infamous spiky hair-do.
The 2003 Pop Idol runner up was instantly recognisable for his fondness of having hair that hedgehogs would be jealous of, courtesy of a lot of hair gel.
But times and fashions change, and the spikes are long gone. Yet when Gareth appeared on Wednesday’s edition of This Morning, his current hairstyle had viewers talking – and they couldn’t decide how they felt about it…
Gareth, who’s in a relationship with Coronation Street star Faye Brookes, appeared on the talk show on Wednesday (8th March). And though he was there to discuss his involvement with the McGuire programme, a speech therapy organisation, viewers were distracted with his swooping hairstyle – long on the top and swept to one side:

Aside from his hair, Gareth opened up about how his past issues with having a stammer affected him, and how his joining the programme helped to turn it all around:
‘Having a stammer, it shapes and moulds the person you are. You can’t be the person that you want to be.
‘I again found it really hard, especially as a kid. I didn’t know anybody else who had a stammer, so it was a very lonely place. It wasn’t until I came on the programme, and you meet people who share that same affection, that you start to think there is hope out there.’

Kerry Katona and Natasha Hamilton have been left upset after being forced off stage by revellers who BOTTLED them.
The Atomic Kitten duo were performing at Lincoln’s Engine Shed on Wednesday night when a group of male crowd members showed up and at least one of them started hurling bottles and food at them, eyewitnesses say.
Despite having only sang three tunes, 34-year-old Natasha and Kerry, 36, were reportedly left feeling unsafe and so quickly departed the stage much earlier than planned.
‘They had a great show until a group of lads turned up and started throwing money and bottles,’ a source tells the Mirror. ‘So they cut the gig short. The groups of lads responsible were promptly thrown out.’
Kerry didn’t hold back from showing her anger at what happened when she blasted the bottle-throwers on Twitter after the shortened performance.
‘Well that was fun!! What a shame when some young boy going through puberty thinks it’s manly to throw bottles at girls!! #waiting4balls2drop,’ the mum-of-five fumed.

Meanwhile Natasha admitted she was just as upset by the drama but wasn’t willing to risk her safety.
‘Gutted that tonight’s gig ended early,’ the singer explained to her followers. ‘2 all of u who came to see a good show, thank u 4 yr support but when it’s not safe we have 2 leave x’

Several fans have since sent their best wishes to the duo and hope they might return to finish the show.
‘apologies for the guys in Lincoln, the gals were loving it,’ one gig-goer wrote, whilst another said: ‘we understand it was s***, but please come back next week’
The CEO of the University of Lincoln’s Student Union has now issued a statement about the incident – which took place at students’ night Quack – and says that they’ve apologised to the girls.
‘The Engine Shed is appalled by the behaviour that took place at last night’s Atomic Kitten performance and apologises unreservedly,’ James Brooks explains. ‘We are sending flowers to Kerry and Natasha as a token of our regret and are investigating the incident as a matter of urgency.
‘The students involved were immediately removed from the Engine Shed. The situation was dealt with swiftly and professionally by the Engine Shed staff with no further issues on the night.’
Here’s hoping the next gig goes a little more smoothly for Kerry and Natasha.

Lauren Goodger has become a firm favourite on Snapchat since joining the social media app recently, showing off her signature pout with a variety of filters.
But the 30-year old came under fire during a recent video when she was accused of dangerous driving.
In the clip, Lauren can be seen in a car whilst she spots a leopard face filter. She breaks into a smile before a mask comes over her face. After posting the video to Instagram, a fan wrote: ‘Owwww I love u but gutted to see ur driving and snapping not good.’

But did Lauren deserve to come under fire? Other fans were quick to point out that she appeared to be sat in the backseat of the car and therefore was not the driver.
One fan sarcastically wrote: ‘didn’t know you had steering wheel in the back.’
The fan responded: ‘My mistake wasn’t being nasty it was a genuine mistake and just was gutted if u were.’
Lauren hasn’t responded to the accusations but she’s been forced to defend herself from other claims in recent weeks. She hit back after fans questioned whether she’d paid for her own Valentine’s Day presents from her jailbird boyfriend.
The TOWIE star showed off a giant bouquet of flowers on Instagram – as well as reportedly posting a photo which she later deleted of a gift from designer label Balmain – and gushed about how prisoner beau Joey Morrison had sent them to her.

When laid-back Bromley lad, Matt Terry was crowned winner of the X Factor last year he seemed like the deserving victor.
As a show favourite from the beginning, the 24-year-old melted young girls’ hearts everywhere with tales of his breakup and even sparked up a bromance with fellow singing star Freddie Parker.
But after beating Saara Aalto to the reality show top spot, the star has now sparked backlash after reportedly getting a little bit tipsy and causing a stir in a family pub in Wakefield. Eeek.
According to The Sun Matt got a few parents riled up when he shouted the dreaded c-word in front of young children at the pub. Yikes.
A source told the publication: ‘The Matt the public saw on TV is not the Matt everyone is seeing backstage on tour.
‘The pub incident was truly shocking. After one practice he got drunk at a bar in Wakefield and started swearing his mouth off in front of children, shouting the word c***. The parents who heard him were furious.’
Blimey! An onlooker who reportedly witnessed the outburst later took to Twitter, writing: ‘@MattTerry93 I hope you apologise for swearing in front of children the other day at the pub, how rude!
Unfortunately for Matt, who was mentored by Nicole Scherzinger on the show, he’s also been accused of some questionable behaviour during his time performing with the X Factor tour as the reports suggest the singer turned up late and hungover.
‘He’s not showering himself in glory on the tour either. He has turned up late for call times and appeared hungover at rehearsals,’ the source added.
‘At some he has had to mime through tunes while wearing shades to hide his eyes.’
Although Matt’s yet to comment on the claims his friends were quick to defend the star, insisting that he’s just enjoying himself.
One pal told The Sun: ‘Matt’s 23 and just having a good time on tour. He regrets getting drunk and swearing in a family environment, but he’s 100 per cent dedicated in his performances.’

And it looks like fans agree as they’ve taken to Twitter to gush about the tour which sees Matt along with the seven other X Factor Finalists, Saara, 5 After Midnight, Honey G, Emily Middlemas, Four of Diamonds, Ryan Lawire and Sam Lavery, take to the stage for an epic night of music.
Although the tour comes to an end next week, Matt will then be hitting the studio to work on his winner’s album so it looks like the star will be keeping himself very busy over the next few weeks!

And less than a week into their new series, they’ve found themselves with a new drama, as viewers were concerned that cast member Diags was riding in the passenger seat of a car – without putting his seat belt on!
Wednesday evening’s edition of the ITVBe reality show saw Diags (real name James Bennewith) accompanying friend Dan Edgar on a drive around Essex after leaving the first signs of a scandal. Newbie and bestie of Megan McKenna, Amber Turner had just been accused of sleeping with Dan… despite having a long-term boyfriend. Eek!
Naturally, the boys wanted to discuss their feelings on the situation, so took to the open road to have some space to discuss in peace.
And it seems as if Diags was so engrossed in what his friend was saying that he seemingly forgot to buckle up:
And eagle-eyed TOWIE viewers were quick to pick up on the faux-pas, taking to Twitter to voice their concern.
‘Did Diags know that he didn’t have a seat belt on when he was in the car with Dan?’ asked one user, while others decided to give him a figurative finger wagging, with one Tweeting: ‘No seat belt for Diags when travelling in Dan’s car… tut tut tut’.

However, alternative camera angles showed that Diags was indeed wearing his seat belt – yet the upper strap was underneath his arm, rather than going above his shoulders – but this still left some viewers unimpressed…

Speculation over Stephanie and Jeremy’s relationship has intensified in recent weeks. The couple were snapped seemingly getting on very well after After Jez finally accepted that he was baby Caben’s father, and just this week Steph was by the Irish model’s side as they attended his father’s funeral in Ireland.
And Steph gave the strongest indication yet that she sees a future for her and Jez in a recent chat with Now.
Asked about the stigma surrounding mums with children by multiple fathers in an interview with our Kat Romero, Steph told us: ‘Obviously, I want my kids to have the same dad. That’s ideally what anyone wants.
She continued: ‘No one wants kids in a broken home. I’d want the same family. That’s what I ideally want.’
She also confirmed that her first baby with Jez was no mistake, telling us: ‘It absolutely was a planned pregnancy’

Liam Payneloves Sainsbury’s. He’s one of the biggest pop stars in the world but it’s not Ocado delivering his groceries – Liam does it the old fashioned way.
One Direction singer Liam, 23, was spotted at his local branch in Surrey again last week and, despite looking seriously knackered, he happily posed with a fan outside the store.
And Directioners online rushed to compliment their idol, with one writing: ‘How does he manage to go from all hot and thug to all cute???’
Another said: ‘Can we talk about how cuddly and soft and beautiful he looks? I just want to protect him.’
But what could Liam have been buying? His girlfriend Cheryl is thought to be very close to welcoming their first child, if she hasn’t given birth already, so perhaps he was stocking up on nappies and SMA milk…
Liam recently sent fans into a flutter when he revealed he was creeping around his home – with many jumping to the conclusion that he was trying not to wake his baby.
After being spotted shopping at Sainsbury’s multiple times over the past few months, Liam’s now being pushed by his fans to take on a very different job.

When the news broke that Strictly Come Dancing Head Judge and ballroom legend, Len Goodman was hanging up his ‘Number 7’ score paddle and leaving the show – we heard the whole nation gasp in unison.
Not only is he our favourite judge ever (sorry Bruno), he’s also part of the BBC furniture!
But sadly there was no convincing the 72-year-old to stay another series, so the search for the next Head Judge had to begin – and they have some BIG shoes to fill.
Names quickly hit the rumour mill for his replacement with insiders suggesting that one of the current judges – Bruno Tonioli, Darcey Bussell and Craig Revel Horwood – will be promoted into the Head Judge role – with the new recruit filling their spot.
But as speculation hits an all time high, it’s veteran dancer Anton Du Beke who’s the latest favourite set to take on the challenge.
According to The Sun the 50-year-old Strictly professional is undergoing a screen test to see how he will fit in on the new-look panel as a source said: ‘Everyone loves Anton and he has been one of the favourites for the job because of his seniority and for being on the show since it started.
‘He would be like a younger Len and the transition would definitely be a smooth one.
‘They’ve obviously not ruled out other people but it’s a good sign for Anton.’

Would the BBC bring back a previous judge? Well ITV did it with presenter, Dermott O’Leary so anything’s possible…
The former judge sat on the panel between 2004 until 2008 before being replaced by Alesha Dixon and when asked who she thinks should return, Arlene told The Mirror: ‘Me, of course. Who else? The BBC will do what they want. Anton has been suggested. He’d be a lot of fun.’

Ferne McCann has been busy looking for her dream man on Celebs Go Dating but now she’s ready to do something TOTALLY different.
The former TOWIE star, 26, is reportedly about to launch herself as a pop star after doing a Beyoncé and secretly recording a whole album’s worth of songs. Who knew, eh?
‘Ferne is a secret songstress,’ a source says. ‘She has been in the recording studio recently and things are going really well.’
Apparently Ferne has already given a select few a taste of her material and it sounds like it proved to be quite a hit.
‘She recently played a bit of a swing version of That’s Life that she has recorded and the reaction has been great,’ the insider tells The Sun. ‘She is a lady of many hidden talents.’
Go Ferne! Perhaps the reality star picked up some singing tips after becoming friends with Pussycat Dolls songstress Melody Thornton on E4 show Celebs Go Dating.
Despite this seeming like a bit of a shock move for Ferne, it’s actually not the first time she’s proved that she’s a multitalented gal.

Gemma has fuelled rumours after appearing to wear her old engagement ring again
Gemma Collins caused a stir on this week’s TOWIE when she confessed that she hoped to get pregnant after a one-night stand with ex James ‘Arg’ Argent a few months ago.
Now though it looks like the 36-year-old might have found the man she’ll potentially start a family with after reportedly reuniting with former fiancé Rami Hawash.
Gemma was previously engaged to the car salesman before they split in 2014 after three years together and she’s recently sparked speculation that they might be back together by appearing to wear the huge ring he gave her again.
‘Gemma and Rami are essentially back together,’ a source claims. ‘They haven’t put a label on their relationship yet but Gemma is in love with him and she’s told her closest friends how happy she is.
‘She’s always kept in touch with Rami and he has always been there for her and supported her.
‘They’ve been spending loads of time together and have been enjoying a very close relationship. Gemma says that all along Rami has always been her rock.’
Nawww. In fact things are apparently going so well between Gemma and Rami, 44, that there could be a baby on the way in the near future.
‘Gemma is ready to settle down and make a family,’ the insider tells The Sun Online. ‘She thinks that Rami is the perfect man for her.’
The relationship is said to have the approval of Gemma’s family and, whilst the couple aren’t engaged again, it sounds like the Essex girl is determined to make things work this time around.
‘Gemma has told friends she regrets splitting up with him – she says she was young and inexperienced in love and didn’t know what she had,’ the source reveals.
‘She feels bad that some people thought Rami wasn’t good enough for her because he’s never been a bad boy, she says he’s always just had her best interests at heart and she feels very lucky to be so close to him again.’
It comes after Gemma confessed that she feared being alone following her revelation that she’d not used contraception when she slept with Arg in Marbella, having secretly hoped that she might fall pregnant.
‘It was that awful moment when you go, “Actually it’s just me,”’ she told close friends Chloe Sims, Bobby Norris and Georgia Kousoulou.
‘I haven’t got a boyfriend so how am I ever going to have a baby? I’m 36, and it’s made me feel a little unfulfilled.’

Liam Payne has added to his growing tattoo collection with a very personal new etching.
The 23-year-old singer revealed to his Instagram fans on Thursday that he’s had the year of his birth – 1993 – inked down his bicep in some arty white lettering.
Needless to say the One Direction star’s fans totally approve of his latest design.
‘great tattoo payno,’ one admirer commented on the black-and-white snap, whilst another said: ‘This is so beautiful’
Others wondered whether Liam’s new skin ink could have a deeper meaning relating to his upcoming solo material, with one follower asking: ‘Album name ?’
The 1D heartthrob’s reflective tattoo comes as speculation around his pregnant girlfriend Cheryl continues.
Fans have been wondering if the 33-year-old has already given birth or not and the fact that Liam has marked the year of his own arrival into the world has got many pondering if he’ll do something similar for his child.
‘You should get your babies foot print tatted on you,’ one Liam lover suggested.
Perhaps we’ll see Liam add 2017 to his collection of etchings in honour of the baby’s birth year? Well ya never know…
Cheryl and Liam have both kept schtum throughout Chezza’s pregnancy, which she only officially confirmed last month by showing off her HUGE bump in a L’Oreal advertising campaign.

Charlotte Crosby and Stephen Bear have been busy working on their new MTV show Just The Tattoo Of Us of late but their new TV project could prove even MORE explosive (if that’s possible with these two)!
Rumour has it that Char and Bear are both being lined up for a dramatic return to the Celebrity Big Brother house, having both won the series in the past.
But this time they’d apparently be entering the compound as a COUPLE à la Speidi. Wowzers.
Yep, after the success of this year’s All Stars theme CBB producers are keen to do another take on this and reputedly want Charlotte, 26, and Bear, 27, to be housemates.
‘Bosses were desperate to get both of them on for the January version of the show, but neither were available,’ a source says.
‘Now that Charlotte and Bear are dating Channel 5 will pull out all the stops to book both of them for July.’
Bear had previously hinted that he was keen to do the January series but was reportedly unable to do it due to filming Celebs Go Dating.
This time around it sounds like he’s not so sure about returning though due to the fact that he’d act pretty differently with Charlotte around…
‘They have discussed it, but Bear worries he’ll be under pressure to take care of Charlotte when she gets upset, and won’t be able to completely be his usual troublesome, ruthless self that won the show before,’ the insider claims.
‘Bear proved to be one of the most controversial contestants the show has ever seen, while Charlotte had audiences in hysterics with her crazy antics.’
So will Charlotte – who emerged victorious on CBB back in 2013 – and 2016 winner Bear make a jaw-dropping return to the house as an item?
Well the cheeky pair have never exactly defined the nature of their relationship, though have dropped major hints that they’re more than just mates by sharing lots of intimate selfies and videos on social media.
So if they ARE all loved-up doing CBB could prove to be a bit of a risk to their blossoming romance, right?
‘They will be in with a huge chance of winning,’ the source tells The Sun Online. ‘And will stop at nothing to win the show for a second time.
‘They know it could make or break their relationship, but with both of them born for reality TV it’ll be brilliant viewing whatever happens.’
There’s been no word from CrosBear on this as of yet but we SO want to see it happen!

We all love Ed Sheeran, right? He’s laid back, charming and not to mention he pens a killer romantic tune.
But now our favourite cat-cuddling, superstar has been accused of telling us all a few fibs in the past in order to get ahead in the charts.
Wait… what?!
OK, so you might have heard the story of Ed being cut in the face by Princess Beatrice? Well basically Ed, Beatrice and singer, James Blunt were all messing around at a celeb bash – oh, to run in THOSE circles.
Anyway, Beatrice had been pretending to ‘knight’ James using a ceremonial sword (as you do) when she accidentally swung the sword behind her and sliced open Ed’s cheek, leaving blood pouring everywhere and the chart topper running off to A&E.
Yikes! Sounds painful and hilarious in equal measures…
But while we were all still LOL’ing at the idea of a royal pretending to knight a celeb at a showbiz party – now the You’re Beautiful singer, James has claimed the whole tale is a great big lie.
Going in on his pal, James confessed to Shortlist: ‘Ed was drunk, messing around, and he cut himself. We made a fancy story up; people fell for it. It was very embarrassing.’
And the 43-year-old didn’t stop there and when asked how much of the story was fabricated, James replied: ‘All of it. Apart from the actual scar. It’s bizarre that people fell for it. I blame him. He must be desperate – he’s trying to sell records.’
So is Ed lying? Or is James lying about Ed lying? We literally don’t know what to believe any more.

Although there’s one thing the pair can agree on as James did confirm that he was there when the accident happened, admitting: “Yeah, but I didn’t do it! He cut himself and I just patched him up. It’s made him look prettier.”
Phew. At least SOMETHING is true.
And it turns out this isn’t the first time James has hinted that the elaborate story was a lie and when he went on The Graham Norton Show he previously said he didn’t think Ed, 26, could’ve been seen that quickly at A&E to get back in time to finish his party.
Hmm. While Ed , who’s currently dating Cherry Seaborn, hasn’t commented on the claims yet – we’re pretty sure he doesn’t need a story about pretend knighthoods to sell records. The star has currently got a massive 16 tunes from his new album heading for the Top 40!
The men of the Kardashian family have infamously each had their own personal dramas to deal with – and as one of the longest standing ones, Scott Disickhas certainly had his fair share.
As well as having entered rehab for instances of drug and alcohol abuse, Scott’s relationship with Kourtney Kardashian has been rockier than ever in recent years, with them always seeming to be on the cusp of getting back together.
From the looks of things, however, that might be even harder than expected – as footage has been released of Scott confessing he’s a sex addict after bringing a model to their family holiday.
The family reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, will soon debut its 13th season, and to excite the fans there’s been a new trailer released – and it looks as if there’s more high-pressured situations than ever before.
A segment of the minute-long clips shows the family during a trip to Costa Rica. As he’s seen cuddling in bed with Kourtney, Scott can be overheard saying ‘she’s the love of my life’.

However, things quickly get a lot less romantic when the scene cuts to Kourtney saying ‘Scott brought a girl out here.’ Awks.
Clearly upset in her brother-in-law of sorts, Kim Kardashian exclaims ‘f*cking wh*re’ – before Scott is seen outdoors, yelling to Kourtney: ‘I’m a sex addict!’

Kourtney, who has sons Mason (seven) and Reign (two) and daughter Penelope (four) with Scott, is then shown in a later scene to tell him: ‘It’s never going to work out.’
Elsewhere in the trailer, emotions are running high for Kim as she recounts horrific moments from her robbery in Paris, and she can be seen breaking down when hearing of husband Kanye West breaking down on stage during his ill-fated tour at the end of 2016.

Remember the romantic Geordie Shore moment which saw Ricci Guarnaccio propose to girlfriend, Vicky Pattison in Cancun with the help of a beautiful beach and an aeroplane? Aw.
Well flash forward five years and following A LOT of arguing and a VERY bitter break up, now the pair basically can’t stand each other. Yikes.
After going their separate ways just a few months after their engagement in 2013, Ricci moved to Australia, Vicky quit the MTV reality show to become Queen of The Jungle and the pair have barely spoken since.

Blimey. The northern star even suggested Vic, who’s currently loved-up with boyfriend John Noble, has reached out to him recently, revealing: ‘She tried to add me again because I blocked her and it’s just weird after all the things she said about me.’
But Ricci’s not content with a few harsh words for his famous ex and after teasing of a ‘tell-all’ book last year, it looks like he’s keen to bring it out as soon as possible as the star continued: ‘It’s been three years since we broke up. There’s a lot of stuff I want to get off my chest.’
Before adding: ‘I’m doing my own thing. I couldn’t care less how she’s doing.
‘There’s too many lies being said.’
Eeek. Despite Ricci’s claims, we’re pretty sure 29-year-old Vic won’t be that bothered considering she can’t stop gushing about how in love she is with her new man, John and has even mentioned marriage!

Girls kicking vampire ass? The singing episode? Angel v Spike?
Come on – Buffy the Vampire Slayer was THE swoonfest series that defined an era. Not only was there shedloads of gal power action packed into every 6 o’clock after-school episode, there was also a chocolate box of top 90s totty to suit any teenage persuasion.
Angel for the teen queens, Xander for the geeks, Spike for the ladies that liked a bad boy, and Oz for well…the girls who didn’t mind a fella who morphed into a wolf every now and again.
It’s a whopping 20 years since Buffy Summers first started slaying those vamps on TV for our enjoyment. So, in honour of the show’s 20th anniversary, let’s take a look at what are our favourite Sunnydale teens up to these days…
Sarah Michelle Gellar
Beating off the likes of Selma Blair and Katie Holmes, SMG took to our screens as slayer Buffy Summers in 1996. Impressively starring in all 144 episodes, Sarah has continued to act since the series ended.
She kept within the horror theme taking roles in films such as I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, and The Grudge, and has also starred in several more TV shows, the most recent being CBS’ The Crazy Ones opposite the late Robin Williams. She married fellow 90s teen icon Freddie Prinze Jr in 2002, and together they have two children.
Xander Harris was the chap all early fans wanted to win Buffy’s heart. Devoted friend and original vampire-fighting team member, Xander was THE go-to guy when stuff hit the fan.
Nicholas Brendon continued acting for both stage and screen once Buffy had ended, most notably a recurring role as Kevin Lynch in Criminal Minds.
Unfortunately Nicholas has had some problems coping with the fame game, spending time in rehab during 2010 for alcohol and prescription addiction. He was arrested for damaging property in 2014.
The actor wrote on his Facebook page: ‘I apologise. Usually those words end a message like this but I am beginning with them to emphasise how much I regret disappointing my family, my fans, and myself. I can offer an explanation but I make no excuse for my unacceptable behavior.’
Alyson Hannigan
Everyone’s favourite red-haired gal, booksmart Willow Rosenburg was also one of Buffy’s longest serving members. Apart from winning epic series storylines that involved her becoming a witch and falling in love with another woman, Alyson Hannigan will forever be immortalised outside of Buffy with that one line, ‘This one time, at band camp…’
Yeah, we never looked at Willow the same way again. With a slew of American Pie movies under her belt, Alyson returned to regular TV in 2005 appearing in comedy How I Met Your Mother. She then filmed (what supposedly is) the final American Pie installment, American Reunion in 2012. Alyson married Buffy co-star Alexis Denisof in 2003, and they’ve since had two children.
Alyson returned to telly in 2016 as host of Penn & Teller: Fool Us, taking over from Jonathan Ross.
James Marsters
Billy Idol-esque vampire badboy Spike was one of Buffy’s more controversial squeezes, and crikey, did we LOVE him for it. Whereas Angel had that brooding ‘I don’t want to hurt you vibe'(yawn), Spike was the bleached-blonde vampire that all girls wanted to bait and then bite.
Hell, who wouldn’t spend an eternity damned on earth if it meant spending it with Spike? Originally supposed to be killed off after only a few episodes, James Marsters gained such popularity in his portrayal that creator Joss Whedon added Spike to the regular cast.
After the show ended, James reprised the role for the spin-off show Angel in 1999. He has continued to work in TV appearing in shows such as Torchwood and Hawaii Five-O, but will forever be attached to his iconic Buffy character. We miss you Spike.
London native Anthony Head played stiff-upper-lipped Sunnydale teacher/slayer mentor Rupert Giles. Leaving the regular cast during the show’s sixth season, Anthony returned to the UK and continued to act.
Appearing in programmes such as Little Britain and My Family, Anthony lives with his partner Sarah Fisher, and has two daughters. Musically minded Anthony released album Staring At The Sun in 2014, and returned to screens in 2015 reprising his role as David Wheele in SyFy’s Dominion. he also appeared in surprise 2016 film hit A Street Cat Named Bob.
David Boreanaz
Buffy’s first foray into dating one of the undead began with moody (but gorgeous) vampire Angel. Cursed by gypsies, Angel spent most of his time being remorseful and easy on the eye.
Something must have worked as David received his own spin-off show Angel in 1999 in which to flesh out (sorry, we couldn’t help it) the character. Angel ran until 2004. Since then David is most recognisable as Seeley Booth from Bones.
Charisma Carpenter
Oh Cordelia. Wasn’t she just that bitchy girl we all knew at school? Ah, but wasn’t she great?
Charisma Carpenter originally auditioned for the role of Buffy, but wound up playing cheerleading Cordelia Chase. Always quick with the cutting one-liners and Heather Shimmer lippy, Charisma got to reprise Cordelia’s sassy ‘tude in spin-off show Angel which ran until 2004. Since 2013 she has fronted TV show Surviving Evil, which details real-life crimes – even revisiting a horrific attack she suffered along with two friends in 1991 for the programme.
Quirky little wolf boy Oz became an instant fan favourite when he joined the Buffy cast in 2007. After spotting Willow across a crowded dancefloor wearing an Eskimo costume, Seth Green’s Oz continued to make appearances until 2000, and following that appeared briefly again in 2009.
Seth Green is a bonafide Hollywood workhorse, appearing in countless movies (Austin Powers, Josie and the Pussycats) TV shows (That 70s Show, Entourage), but is probably best known as the voice of overweight teen Chris Griffin in ongoing hit series Family Guy.
Whilst there has been talk of a Buffy reunion, nothing has ever been set in stone. We can only pray that we see these guys back in The Bronze sometime soon.
