As Geri Halliwell celebrates her 43rd birthday, we celebrate her best moments in the Spice Girls
Birthdays and the 90s are two of our favourite things in Now headquarters – they both involve cheesy music and pastel coloured yummy treats – so you can imagine how excited we are that it’s the birthday of a certain Spice Girl today.
Get the party hats out and pass the parcel started – Geri Halliwell’s is turning 43-years-old today! Happy Birthday! *party poppers ahoy*
As well as being a doting mum to eight-year-old daughter Bluebell and wonderful wife to hubby Christian Horner, Geri was also our favourite feisty, fiery-haired female when we were growing up.
So, as well as celebrating her birthday, we thought we’d also celebrate her best moments as ginger spice back in her Spice Girl days – Hi, Ci, Ya, Hold tight!
First of all, Ginger Spice isn’t called Ginger Spice for no reason you know – Geri’s hair ALWAYS looked amazing. Who didn’t try and dye their hair red complete with blonde highlights when they were younger?
We love all the Spice Girls for different reasons, and Geri was always more cheeky than most. And that was never shown more than when the girl band met Prince Charles, and she bypassed a curtsey and went straight for a bum pinch! The word cheeky has never been more appropriate.
Oh, and where would we be if Geri hadn’t bought the infamous Union Jack dress into our lives?! Well, technically not a dress, as Gezza actually decided to throw on a tea towel for the Spice Girls Brits performance in 1997. God knows what we’d do for a last minute fancy dress party without it though.
And how could we forget her stellar performance in Spice World the Movie – a sleepover classic – where she not only made it clear what a girl’s essentials are…
…but she also was never afraid to take on for the team. Even when weird aliens were involved.
Here’s to you Geri Halliwell! Keep being the feisty, fiery, fabulous 43-year-old that you are!
