Newlywed Peter Andre reveals how he cried tears of joy as he marryed Emily MacDonagh - and how he'd like to start trying for baby number two straight away
Hankies at the ready, because an emotional Peter Andre has revealed he feels like the ‘luckiest man in the world’ after marrying girlfriend Emily MacDonagh.
The lovebirds were wed at Mamhead House in Exeter, Devon, over the weekend in an intimate ceremony attended by 162 guests including Peter’s children with Katie Price, Junior, 10, and Princess, 8, and his and Emily’s 18-month-old daughter Amelia.
Speaking about their big day in OK! magazine, Peter gushed: ‘Everything was just perfect.
‘I’m so happy to be able to call Emily my wife. I feel like the luckiest man in the world as I have married the most beautiful girl in the world, who is also my best friend.
‘I have my soulmate for life by my side.’
Nawww!
Pete also spoke about the emotional moment his bride – wearing a stunning Sassi Holford gown – made her way down the aisle behind his children, who acted as page boys and bridesmaids.
‘First seeing my son Junior walk down the aisle, followed by Bista [Princess] and Mills [Amelia] and then Emily – it was just too much!
‘Seeing Emily for the first time in her dress was incredible – she too my breath away She’s the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen – I couldn’t help but well up!’
And there were tears all round as both Emily and Princess also got teary eyed.
‘Initially, Bista was upset because she doesn’t like to see Emily cry,’ Pete revealed, adding: ‘But when we told her Emily’s tears were because she was so happy, Bista cried tears of joy too.’
Double nawww!
‘I knew I’d be emotional, but I didn’t think I’d be that emotional,’ Emily revealed in OK!
She added: ‘I was completely calm and relaxed in the morning while getting ready, but when I could see Pete waiting at the end of the aisle for me, it set me off!’
Having gotten engaged just before the birth of little Amelia in January last year, Peter and Emily had originally planned to marry next year, but brought the wedding forward when Peter’s father, who lives in Australia, fell ill.
‘My dad has had a health scare and we were worried that if we did it next year he wouldn’t be able to fly,’ Pete explained.
But the last minute date change – which saw the couple organise everything in just six weeks! – set tongues wagging that Emily and Peter might be expecting baby number two.
‘I’m sure everyone’s going to think I’m pregnant – I’m not! Even my friends asked me.
She added: ‘I always wanted to get married this year so I’m so happy, although Pete could have given me a bit more warning! Once it got to May I didn’t actually think he would bring it forward!’
Yet it may not be long before the couple start trying for their second child, with Pete confessing: ‘I’d like to start straight away!’
And whilst Emily – who qualified as a doctor earlier this year – is just as keen, she wants to focus on her career over the next year.
She said: ‘I just want to work for a bit first and then we will [try for a second baby]. My career is important to me and it’s taken me a long time to get here [to be a qualified doctor] but I’m still only young.’
She added: ‘I want to give it my best shot. If I feel like I’m progressing really well [in my career], I might leave it another year.’
So it looks as though the next couple of years will be as full-on as ever for the new Mr and Mrs Andre – but we’re sure they’ll be happy ones too!
