Rebecca Adlington gives birth to ‘beautiful’ baby girl – and has already bought her a swimming costume!

Swimming star Rebecca Adlington and hubby Harry Needs are 'over the moon’ as they welcome their daughter

Rebecca Adlington and husband Harry Needs are now the proud parents of a baby girl – and it looks like she’s going to take after her water-loving mum.

Olympic swimmer Rebecca, 26, excitedly told her Twitter fans that she’d given birth to her first child yesterday and admitted she was completely overjoyed.

Rebecca’s husband Harry – who she married in September last year – also spoke of his happiness at the arrival of the couple’s little girl in an emotional message to his Twitter followers.

There’s no news on the tot’s name yet but it already looks like she’s going to be a real water baby just like her mum!

Just a few weeks before giving birth, Rebecca revealed in a pregnancy video blog that she’d bought her daughter her first swimming costume and it’s ADORABLE.

‘We had to!’ the sports star tells the camera as she holds up the tiny little one-piece. ‘We can’t wait to take her in the pool, so that’s exciting.’

Baby Adlington-Needs is going to be one well-dressed tot. In the footage Rebecca gives a tour of her nursery and reveals a wardrobe full of unbelievably cute clothes ready and waiting for her to wear.

Rebecca admits that she ‘absolutely loves’ the costumes – and how could you not when they’re sooo teeny tiny and sweet?

It’s clearly the swimming costume that the former Olympian has got a soft spot for though. After receiving a flood of congratulatory messages on the birth of her daughter, Rebecca responded to one by saying: ‘thank you so much. Can’t wait to take her swimming!’
