New X Factor judge Nick Grimshaw has been getting cosy with photographer Michael Mayren
With a massive new job on The X Factor, a clothing collection for Topman on the way and continued success with his Radio 1 Breakfast Show, Nick Grimshaw is on a bit of a roll right now.
And it looks like his good fortune might have extended to his love life too. Grimmy, 30, is rumoured to be dating photographer Michael Mayren.
The DJ has been friends with fellow Mancunian Michael for over a year but the duo have reportedly grown closer recently after Michael broke up with his boyfriend.
‘Nick and Michael started off as mates but things have been developing lately,’ a source close to Grimmy tells The Sun.
‘They have loads in common and have been hanging out a lot. After spending much of Glastonbury in each other’s company they celebrated Michael’s birthday with a trip to the nearby Babington House hotel.
‘It’s not official yet but all their pals think they’re going to be in a relationship soon.’
Nick and Michael haven’t spoken about the rumours but a spokesman for Grimmy says: ‘They are just friends.’

Most obvious fact first – Michael is very fond of body art. The Northern snapper has large inkings on his face, neck, arms, hands and legs. He even has a big shark image on the side of his face (hence his Instagram name sharkonyourface).
He’s a respected photographer who’s produced moving work
Michael’s pictures have been featured in top magazines and his work has earned praise for being gritty but vulnerable. His projects have including a series of photos depicting young dads with their children and he’s also photographed Mancunian youths in various settings.
‘I’m drawn to people with passion and determination to get somewhere in life. People who want to make something out of nothing. Whether it be music, sport or just the drive to get by day to day. I suppose it’s all part of having a common ground and understanding my subjects,’ he explains.

Grimmy is famed for his A-list circle of friends and Michael is officially a member of the starry gang. In social media snaps they’ve been seen hanging out with the likes of Daisy, Pixie Geldof and co, most recently at Glastonbury.
He shares Nick’s love of dogs
As well as earning the approval of Nick’s pals, Michael also seems to have struck up a bond with Grimmy’s beloved pet dog Pig. The tattooed snapper has posed for lots of pictures with the cute pooch and clearly loves dogs in general, having recently shared a video of another pup. Awww!
