David Bowie’s son has announced he’s going to be a father for the first time – exactly one month on from his own dad’s death.
Film director Duncan Jones shared the emotional news last night and also paid tribute to David, who passed away aged 69 last month following a battle with cancer.

The dad-to-be, who is married to photographer Rodene Jones, has since received lots of touching messages following his happy news.
‘Congratulations – happy tears I’m sure his/her Grandad will watch over you all!’ one Twitter user posted.
Another commented: ‘This makes me so happy I could cry. When one life ends another one begins… Congrats Duncan, wish y’all all the best!’
Duncan also revealed how he was feeling about the timing of the announcement when one Tweeter told him: ‘congrats! I found out I was pregnant the day my father in law died & it felt brilliant, comforting and difficult all at once.’
The expectant father replied: ‘exactly that.’
It comes exactly one month after David’s tragic death shocked the world.
Duncan was clearly devastated by his father’s loss and told his Twitter followers at the time: ‘Very sorry and sad to say it’s true. I’ll be offline for a while. Love to all. ‘
The director returned to social media later on in January and thanked everyone for their support.
‘Hi all. Just wanted to thank you for the incredibly kind words & thoughts. I’ll be easing my way back into Twitter-,’ he wrote.
Duncan is the child of David and first wife Angie Bowie. Angie recently claimed during a controversial interview on Loose Women that she hadn’t seen her son since he was 13 or 14, having said she only had him ‘for David’.
She decided not to fight her ex-husband for custody of Duncan when they split and they’ve been estranged ever since.
David also had another child, daughter Alexandria, with second wife Iman. Iman has Tweeted Duncan to congratulate him on his news, writing: ‘Blessings’
