After a whirlwind romance, Ricky Rayment and Marnie Simpson are set to tie the knot!
It’s time to whip out the fascinators and fancy hats as TOWIE’s Ricky Rayment and his Geordie Shore girlfriend Marnie Simpson are officially engaged after six months.
Ricky popped the question two weeks ago and Marnie ‘immediately said yes’, according to friends of the couple.
They claimed the former TOWIE star had ‘never been happier’.
‘It might come across that things are moving a little too quickly…but Ricky believes he’s met the girl of his dreams. Jess is a distant memory,’ the friend said.
They’ve enjoyed a whirlwind six-month romance but it’s clear that these two are set to last – Ricky, 24, actually went into the Geordie Shore house last week and proposed to the northern lass. Of course, Marnie said YES!
It would have been a momentous occassion for Ricky who has been pining after Marnie whilst she’s been locked away in the Geordie house filming the latest series of the show.
Earlier this month Ricky tweeted: ‘Missing my girl so much  not long now xx M xx‘
The loved-up couple met, (and snogged!) at last year’s National Television Awards and have been inseparable ever since – in fact it was only earlier this month that Ricky revealed a small ‘M’ tattoo he’d had inked, further confirming his commitment to Marnie.
Speaking exclusively to Now back in March, Ricky admitted 23-year-old Marnie was ‘the one’ and the pair even discussed marriage and kids.
Marnie revealed: ‘Obviously it’s really early for that and we’re too young right now, but we’ve spoken about it. And our little boy is going to be called Elijah.’
Marnie added: ‘We have the same ambitions and want the same out of life.’
Ricky also gushed about his Geordie girlfriend saying:
‘We’re like the same person but she’s a girl. From the minute we wake up until we go to bed we’re always laughing.’
He added: ‘Apart from being obviously stunning, we just have so much fun. I don’t have to worry about anything. I can just be myself.’
It’s certainly been a speedy romance for the two reality stars. It was only last November that Ricky and his former TOWIE flame Jessica Wright, called time on their two-year relationship.
Speaking earlier this year, Ricky revealed that he’d never actually loved Jess.
‘Sometimes you think you love someone, but you don’t. I thought I loved her but I didn’t, and she obviously feels the same,’ admitted Ricky, who openly gushed about his relationship with Marnie adding:
‘When you find the right person, it’s a totally different feeling. I’m filled up with happiness now.’
Previously, Jess admitted: ‘I don’t even know if I’ve ever been in love. Not genuine, respectful, deep love – I’m not actually quite sure if I have ever had that, which is weird. It’s upsetting because I’m 29, you know?’
Since, Jess has had her fair share of gorgeous men and has been linked to the likes of TOWIE’s Dan Edgar, footballer Connor Wickham and TOWIE newbie Pete Wicks.
