Team Glita are no more and Strictly viewers are pretty upset about it

Anita Rani became the latest celebrity to bow out of Strictly Come Dancing last night and it proved quite emotional for all involved.
The 38-year-old presenter narrowly missed out on reaching the final with professional partner Gleb Savchenko after the judges chose to save Katie Derham and Anton Du Beke in the dance-off, despite Anita and Gleb actually scoring higher than the latter on Saturday night.
It came as a shock to many given team Glita’s impressively jam-packed routines – honestly, did you SEE that high-speed Salsa?
Exiting the competition has clearly left Anita feeling reflective about her Strictly journey.
The Countryfile host paid a highly emotional tribute to Gleb, 32, on Instagram last night, writing: ‘Thank you @glebsavchenkoofficial for teaching me to dance and pushing me to achieve things I never knew I could do.
‘Thank you also every single one of you who’ve voted for us. I’m sorry we didn’t push through to the final for you.
‘I’m a very lucky woman, I will always have my #strictly experience to treasure for life. And I will definitely KEEP DANCING! @bbcstrictly #teamGlita’
Awww, you’re making us well up, Anita! We’ll certainly miss seeing these two strut their stuff on the dance floor.
Who is Strictly’s Gleb Savchenko’s wife?
Anita’s moving words come after she joked about hard-working Gleb being a ‘slave driver’ following their exit on Sunday night’s results show. Oh, and she also mentioned that he’s ‘beautiful’ too (is he? We hadn’t noticed, honest…).
The feeling was mutual for Gleb too, who told Anita he’d ‘loved every day’ spent rehearsing with her throughout their Strictly experience.
Many viewers were shocked to see team Glita leave the competition and took to social media to air their opinions.
‘Really disappointed that the judges voted you off. You deserved a place in the final,’ one fan commented on Anita’s Instagram page.
Another wrote: ‘I have loved every single moment watching you dance on Strictly. You have been an absolute joy.’
True, dat. Now it’s time for the finalists Kellie Bright, Katie Derham, Georgia May Foote and Jay McGuiness to battle it out for that Glitter Ball trophy on Saturday night – eek!
