It was arguably the most explosive row in I’m A Celebrity‘s history – and, unsurprisingly, straight-talking campmate Lady Colin Campbell was at the centre of it.

The 66 year old engaged in a war of words with fellow campmates including Duncan Bannatyne, Tony Hadley and Yvette Fielding on Wednesday’s show – and now Lady C’s son has spoken out in support of his mum.

Dima Zaidie stuck up for his controversial mother as he chatted to This Morning’s Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on today’s show, saying her brutally honest ways are just part of who she is.

Speaking via live phone link, Dima – whom Lady C adopted in 1993 – revealed: ‘She’s someone that when she says something, she means it and this is one perfect example of what we saw yesterday.

‘She said that she wanted to stop talking about it, Jorgie asked another question, she answered the question and then everybody started ranting on to her and started to attack her. So she’s not having it.’

Of course, Lady C does have her allies Down Under in the shape of Kieron Dyer and Chris Eubank – but Dima reckons she’s do just fine on her own.

When asked if he was pleased she had friends in Kieron and Chris, he replied: ‘Yes I am, but at the same time I know that she can manage herself even on her own.’

Last night’s instalment of I’m A Celeb also saw Lady C threatening not to do another trial, and Dima thinks she’s now in a ‘position of power.’

Speaking about the public choosing her for the trials, he said: ‘I think the public want to see her do as many challenges as possible because, on top of it all, she is now in the position of power in the camp.

‘She can decide if she’s not going to do it and if she does do it that will surprise everybody, and at the same time if she doesn’t, well, good on her!’

Yesterday’s rumble in the jungle saw Kieron threatening the quit the show, but Dima reckons we don’t have to worry about his mum going the same way.

‘Oh, no, no, no, she’s not going to walk out,’ he said. ‘She’s not the losing type.’
