Jorgie Porter reveals the extent of her heartbreaking past

Anyone that watched I’m A Celeb last night will agree it was quite the emotional rollercoaster.
But between the bickering over food and failed bush tucker trial, the one stand out moment has to be Jorgie Porter’s emotional revelation about her family past.
‘I have always lived with my grandma and my mum,’ the tearful 27-year-old revealed to her campmates. ‘I’ve never had a dad, and it’s not like a big deal because I’ve never known [any different], so I don’t know.
So my grandma was sort of like my mum, and my mum was like my sister, and we’ve always been a women-strong unit.’
However, her past only gets sadder.
Prior to entering the jungle, the Manchester born actress actually opened up about her only memory of the father she’s never known, which is equally as heartbreaking to read.
‘I met my dad once, but I was a kid and got really nervous and just had the giggles. Then I never saw him again,’ Jorgie explained, while filming for Channel Four’s First Dates last month. ‘I probably think, men will always just disappear; maybe that’s why I don’t get too attached, because they’ll just go anyway.’
Anyone else just want to give her a big hug too?
In last nights ep, while being comforted by Union J’s George Shelley, the star also detailed her family’s struggles to ensure she could follow her dream, explaining: ‘So then my grandma died, just recently this year, but grandma used to be a music teacher, and then I went to loads of auditions for ballet school, I made it into one but it was thousands of thousands of pounds, we couldn’t afford it.
‘So my mum is an artist… I’m OK, I’m remembering how good family is. So then she raised £2000 an was like “I’m going to get you to ballet school”.
‘She was like “I’m going to make sure you get to dance school Jorgie because it’s your dream, and you’ve got to do it” and then I got a scholarship in the end so she didn’t have to keep working.’
We’re sure your Gran will be proud of you right now, Jorgie!
