Strictly Come Dancing fans, we have big news. Sir Bruce Forsyth is reuniting with Tess Daly to host the show tonight!

Brucie isn’t back for the whole series though. Instead the 87-year-old will return to the dance floor for a very special reason – to host a Children In Need special as part of the fundraising marathon. Awww.

This year the cast of Call The Midwife are taking part and will strut their stuff in the hope of winning the Pudsey Glitter Ball trophy. They’ll of course be hoping to raise lots of money for the good cases Children In Need supports along the way too.

The stars who’ve signed up for the special event are Jenny Agutter, Laura Main, Stephen McGann and Jack Ashton – but will any of them replicate the success of co-star Helen George, who’s currently doing pretty well for herself on the main series of Strictly?

We can’t wait to see what happens and it’s great to have Bruce back again too.

The legendary TV star quit Strictly Come Dancing following the 2013 series, having co-hosted it with Tess since the very beginning of the show in 2004, but vowed to come back for one-off specials including the Children In Need and Christmas editions.

It’s great to see him doing well after he suffered a fall at home last month which forced him to pull out of presenting the variety show Bruce’s Hall Of Fame, a show expected to be screened in the new year.

Production company Kalooki Pictures said in a statement at the time: ‘This morning, Sir Bruce Forsyth slipped and fell at his home resulting in facial abrasions and minor concussion.

‘He attended hospital and had a series of scans and tests all of which happily proved negative.

‘However, because of his injury, he has been told by doctors he must have complete rest for at least seven days.’

We’re glad to have you back on Strictly Come Dancing, Brucie, and in your own immortal words – it’s nice to see you, to see you nice!
