She might be newly single but X Factor star Louisa Johnson isn’t bursting with confidence just yet
X Factor viewers were blown away by Louisa Johnson’s stunning performance of love song God Only Knows on Saturday night’s show but behind the scenes Louisa has actually called time on her romance.
The 17-year-old singer admits she’s split from boyfriend Ellis though insists that her being on the show had nothing to do with the break-up.
’Not at all,’ says Louisa. ‘We’re mates and we really get on but it was a mutual decision.
‘It was nothing bad at all and we still talk. It’s great.’
Phew, that’s a relief to hear. It looks like Louisa and Ellis had been together for quite a while, with her Instagram page containing lots of cute pictures of them together.

The end of her relationship clearly hasn’t affected Louisa’s ability to perform though – seriously, did you SEE her sing on Saturday? – and the bookies have got her down as one of the favourites to win.
So it’s perhaps surprising to learn that the Essex-born performer isn’t actually that confident in herself, something she manages to overcome by belting out tunes.
‘I’m not really the most confident person in the world but when I’m on stage I am,’ Louisa tells OK!
‘I just become a different person on stage.’
Louisa admits that not fitting in at school contributed to her lack of self-belief.
‘When I was at school, I didn’t really gel with people,’ she explains. ‘I didn’t like the environment of school.
‘My mum is a life coach, though, so she’s helped me. It was my decision [to audition] but she’s had a massive impact on my confidence.
’She’s helped me with positive thinking.’
Awww! Louisa’s mentor Rita Ora is also on hand to boost her contestant’s self-esteem, with the teenager admitting: ‘I love her.
‘She really brings out the confidence in me.’
Well something’s clearly been working. Not only did she pull THAT performance out of the bag but Louisa thinks she can go all the way in the competition.
‘I do [think I can win], yeah,’ she admits. ‘I wouldn’t have been able to say that last year.
‘I’m here to win it and that’s the attitude you need to have.’
