It’s claimed that The X Factor contestant Anton Stephans has been fibbing about his difficult past
Anton Stephans was praised by Rita Ora on Saturday night’s episode of The X Factor for ‘creating a bond with the public’ – and now it’s been reported that he’s created some lies about his past too.
The 45-year-old star has previously spoken of being adopted when he was 7, something he said left him ‘scarred’, but a source close to Anton’s dad Kenneth has told The Sun that the singer is LYING.
‘Anton wasn’t adopted, if he was he’d have adopted parents,’ the insider claims.
‘No one knows why he is saying things like that. It’s all rubbish.
‘He has been telling stories like this for years and it has finally come back to bite him.’

Instead it’s reported that Anton – whose real name is Stephen Johnson – actually grew up with his Jamaican mum Pauline Nelson in south London.
Apparently the TV star is fibbing about some other aspects of his past too.
The Sun reports that Anton claims on his LinkedIn page that he attended Marlborough College, the same school Kate Middleton studied at, and has also said he achieved a double first in English and History at the University of Cambridge.
The illustrious university says it has no record of him graduating, though.
As if all of that wasn’t confusing enough, Anton reputedly is registered as living under different names too including Stephen Marriott Johnson.
The man himself has refused to comment, according to The Sun, who claim a show source says he’s sticking to his claims in private but is refusing to name his foster parents.
It comes after Anton gave an emotional performance of Luther Vandross‘ Dance With My Father during the first The X Factor live show on Saturday night.
All four judges were full of praise for his rendition and many viewers clearly agreed, with Anton avoiding the double elimination to secure a place on next week’s show.
